The CDC came out with changes to the developmental milestones for children in early February 2022 and I know a lot of parents and practitioners (including myself) have been surprised by some of these changes. That’s why I wanted to bring on my go-to expert, Dr. Peter Scire on to the podcast to walk us through these latest developments. Dr. Scire is someone I personally trust and have worked with regarding my own child’s health.
In today’s podcast, we go through some of those changes including the changes to crawling, walking and speech. Dr. Scire takes us through why these changes are concerning and explains why developmental milestones are so important and can affect getting an early diagnosis.
Because this is such a big topic and we couldn’t go as in-depth during the episode, Dr. Scire and I will be hosting an Expert Masterclass on September 21, 2022 at 12pm EST/9am PST. The free masterclass, Milestones Matter: How Developmental Milestones from Birth to 3 Years Old Influence Brain Development and What You Can Do When a Milestone is Missed, Skipped or Delayed will include:
- What are the developmental milestones and how they provide insight into understanding what treatments and therapies are right for your child.
- How missed, skipped or delayed developmental milestones impact the neurodevelopment of the two hemispheres of your child’s brain and how this explains their symptoms.
- What tools are commonly used to assess your child’s neurodevelopment and how they translate into what your next steps are to help your child.
- Why functional medicine and nutritional interventions on their own will often lead to temporary improvements and how combining them with neurorehab is essential for long-term success.
To sign up for for this Masterclass with Dr. Scire on September 21, please sign up here.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this podcast episode with Dr. Scire!

Have you been enjoying our Toolkit Tuesday episodes? We’re back with another one this week all about the Medical History and Therapy Tracking Tool. But first, what is Toolkit Tuesday for those of you that may be new? It is the day that we review one of the tools in the My Child Will Thrive Toolkit, which you can find for free on our website here.
The Toolkit includes:
- Researched and field tested guides, tracking tools, checklists and cheat sheets allow you to get to the root of what is causing your child's challenges. so that you don't waste time creating them yourself.
- Videos to walk you through some of the more challenging topics you will need to learn to help identify what your child needs.
- Using The My Child Will Thrive Tool Kit gives you a head start so you can focus on what is most important – your child!
In this Toolkit Tuesday episode, I’m taking you through the Medical History and Therapy Tracking Tool which is one of the first tools I created, as well as one of the most extensive. You can access that here.
If you’re like me, it can be exhausting filling out form after form with new practitioners you’re seeing. These forms are extremely important for the practitioners to recognize patterns and identify opportunities for healing for your child, but it can be hard for us to remember everything every time you’re filling out a new intake form. The Medical History and Therapy Tracking Tool is a way to keep everything all in one place so you can either copy it over to your new practitioner form or just give them a copy of this complete summary of your child’s history.
I recommend watching the video on YouTube (see below on this page) to see the tool as I walk you through it. I hope you enjoy this episode!

Today’s podcast episode is something a little bit different. I interviewed AJ Harper, an author, editor and publishing strategist who I’ve personally worked with while writing my book (work in progress). The reason I wanted to bring AJ on is because I think there are so many more parents and practitioners out there who have gotten the idea to write a book that changes lives, but maybe are too scared or aren’t sure where to start. That’s where AJ and her book, “Write a Must-Read: Craft a Book That Changes Lives–Including Your Own,” comes in.
I hope you enjoy this My Child Will Thrive episode with AJ and don’t forget to check the transcript is down below as well as the YouTube video if you’d like to watch our conversation that way!

I’m excited to announce that we’re starting a new series here on the My Child Will Thrive Podcast called The Parent Perspective. Today’s debut episode is The Parent Perspective with Dana Latter.
Dana is a parent of a child who struggled with developmental delays. On the show we talked about her experience with her sons, what techniques worked or didn’t work and what she would’ve done differently if she knew what she did now. Her story has so many similarities to other parents out there and I was able to relate with her as well. She now shares her journey on her own podcast as well as helps other families just like hers.
If you’re a parent or caretaker and you’re interested in sharing your experience with us on the podcast, please fill out our form here and we read them all and you will always hear back from us:-) We look forward to sharing your story too!

In today’s podcast episode, I wanted to give you a sneak peek from my interview with Brian Hoyer, NTP, about EMFs. EMFs are a topic that can be incredibly overwhelming, which is why I wanted to bring Brian on to share some realistic tips on what you can do if you’d like to start looking into the impact of EMFs. Brian explains what EMFs are, how they can be impacting your child’s health and what he thinks are important first steps when trying to reduce your EMF exposure.
This podcast episode is just a quick excerpt from Brian’s full interview in the My Child Will Thrive Knowledge Vault. You can sign up to watch Brian’s full masterclass as well as other interviews with speakers just like him here.

We’ve got a short episode today on the My Child Will Thrive Podcast, but it’s a good one! I’m taking you through the importance of the Food, Mood, Sleep & Poop Journal and why I think it’s one of the most powerful and important tools that you can use for your child (and that I used with mine.)
There’s often a lot going on in our lives, particularly as caregivers when we’re trying to maneuver through our child’s health. The Food, Mood, Sleep & Poop Journal is incredibly helpful on this journey because it tracks each and every part of your child’s day, which gives context and insight to your practitioner. We are doing our absolute best with our children, but this helps us understand if we’re missing something on their healing protocol or if we’re noticing slight changes in their temperament based on a snack.
There so much we can gain from the Food, Mood, Sleep & Poop Journal which is why I have it as a FREE tool in the My Child Will Thrive Toolkit. You can access that here.
I recommend watching the video on YouTube (see below on this page) to see the journal as I walk you through it. I hope you enjoy this episode!
